The VS club residency represents the foundation of my artistic practice - two years of monthly performances that allowed me to develop my signature style and technical approach. This intensive period of experimentation and refinement established many of the principles that continue to guide my work today. Working in Melbourne's premier techno venue during its golden era, I learned to read crowds, understand musical flow, and create visual narratives that enhanced rather than competed with the music. The residency provided invaluable experience in live performance pressure and the technical demands of consistent, high-quality output. Many of the artists I worked with during this period became long-term collaborators, and the relationships formed at VS continue to influence my work. This period taught me that technical skill must always serve emotional connection - a lesson that remains central to everything I create.
